With an exciting trio of attractions—The Taste Bar + Grill, The Taste Lounge, and The Taste Cigar Lounge—this is where amazing food, sleek vibes, and laid-back luxury come together to create magic.

A Star-Studded Opening in Fondren
Owned by Clifton and Latrice Rogers, business moguls and local reality stars known from the Oprah Winfrey Network's hit show Belle Collective, now in its fourth season, Taste Bar + Grill represents a bold new chapter for Jackson’s nightlife. Latrice Rogers is not just a successful restaurateur—she’s also the owner of Goddess Lengths Virgin Hair Bar, and an empire of hair care products. She made waves in the industry by famously putting hair extensions in vending machines, a brilliant idea that made her a millionaire. This incredible success story began when this girl from Jackson had a dream and started selling hair from the trunk of her car, showing just how far determination and ingenuity can take you.
The grand opening on October 4 was an affair to remember, drawing local notables and excited guests alike to witness the unveiling of this stunning new venue. Other members of the cast of Belle Collective were also present, including Aikisha Holly Colon and Tamara Cherie, adding star power to the festivities. Joining them was Stormi Stelle from OWN's Love and Marriage: Huntsville, adding even more excitement to the celebration.
K. Marsh, Head of Operations, gave a private tour, highlighting the incredible versatility of the space. Imagine this: a seamless transition from a fine-dining experience at Taste Grill to a nightclub extravaganza in the Taste Lounge—all at the pull of a wall. It’s fabulous, sleek, and a first for Jackson.
The Grand Opening Celebration kicked off with a welcome from Melanie Sanders, Head of PR, whose charm set the tone for a spirited afternoon. Pastor Frederick Burns delivered a heartfelt prayer, followed by an address on behalf of the Mayor by Vic Sexton of the Small Business Office, City of Jackson, who emphasized the significance of new businesses like Taste in driving the city forward.
The event also featured remarks from Public Service Commissioner DeKeither Stamps, whose words moved the crowd. "I heard you say on the radio that you came from nothing," he said, addressing Latrice and Clifton. "I said naw, you come from this rich, thick Mississippi mud... You two are among the greatest butterflies of Mississippi. Keep flying." It was a poignant reminder of the strength and resilience of the couple’s journey.
Angela Stewart, VP of Women for Progress, then took the stage to read and present a Resolution to Latrice Rogers, honoring her for her inspiring entrepreneurial achievements. The crowd watched on with pride as Angela recognized Latrice's journey from selling hair out of the trunk of her car to becoming a celebrated business mogul and local icon.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony led by The City of Jackson marked the official opening of this dynamic new venue. Clifton Rogers then took the stage to deliver his final remarks, his passion evident:
"Thank you everyone for coming out to Taste Bar and Grill," Clifton said, to the enthusiastic crowd. "We built this spot because we know food brings people together. You're going to really enjoy the food that our chef has prepared today. Taste the difference."

Latrice, her voice filled with emotion. "This has been a long journey, but it’s true what they say—hard work really does pay off. When I started out, I had nothing but a dream and the drive to make it happen. Standing here today, I’m proof that if you stay dedicated and believe in yourself, anything is possible."
